🌟 Mononeuritis multiplex

 🎯 Pathology

  • random simultaneous or sequential involvement of one or more peripheral sensory or motor nerves

  • the involvement of nerves is usually asymmetrical and painful

  • also known as “multifocal neuropathy”

💡 Causes

  • diabetes mellitus

  • vasculitis (e.g. Wegener’s granulomatosis)

  • rheumatoid arthritis

  • infections (e.g. leprosy, HIV, hepatitis C)

  • sarcoidosis

  • amyloidosis
