  • cerebellar lesions cause signs on the ipsilateral side

  • lesions of the cerebellar vermis lead to gait/truncal ataxia

  • lesions of the cerebellar hemispheres cause limb ataxia on the ipsilateral side

  • staccato speech = a pattern of speech where there is a slight pause after every syllable

  • acute alcohol intoxication causes symptoms similar to cerebellar disease
